      The original Xbox games run on the Xbox360, but not vice versa. New games, specifically Halo 3 and several other very popular titles, cannot be played on the original Xbox. The demand for the consoles are driven by the demand for the games, and demand for the original Xbox is all but non-existent. I think it was the right choice for them.

      And the PS2/PS3 comparison really is not comparable to the Xbox/360 genre. PS3 is largely been considered a flop in the gaming industry, while the PS2 was revolutionary and is still considered one of the best consoles out there today - arguably better than the original Xbox, save for the Halo series.

      Halo 3 will drive sales of the 360 through the roof. MSFT is one you will want to own come next earnings season.

      120640: Nov. 15 is the beginning of the first period in which institutions will be required to use this rule. From the FASB website: "This Statement [SFAS157] is effective for financial statements issued for fiscal years beginning after November 15, 2007, and interim periods within those fiscal years."
