      Sandpiper: What is the advantage of purchasing gold in Dubai? What currrency does it trade in? Does one then store it there or some other off-shore facility? Can it be brought back to the U.S.?

      Corporate Insiders in Buying Frenzy
      I'm to the point where I don't trust the actions of any corporate insiders. I suspect the amount of money they put at risk compared to their net worth is miniscule. Further, should their investments decline in value, they may be able to sell and write off against gains elsewhere - or if no writeoffs, no big deal. Why, then, would they be buying? Because they're well aware that they're watched and what better way to attract the public's buying in hopes of propping up stock price...

      MR. Lathrop: FINALLY, I see an analysis that is accurate, to the point, pulls no punches - placing the blame squarely where it belongs - and proposing a solution that is fair and workable. What a travesty that the MBA, as you indicate, would never allow such a solution to be implemented. Like the author, however, I would encourage you to make this proposal to as many in positions of influence as you can find time and energy...

      RE: DELL: Now there's a real sign of the times...Dell selling all its manufacturing facilities world-wide. Remember the "good ol' days" when Dell was an icon for profitable business and many of us made our fortunes from its stock? Sad.....not the first nor the last - but yet another sign portending lots of economic pain ahead for American companies...

      I'd agree that most of the reasons offered for such volatility are factors to one degree or another - but I really think that overall market conditions, e.g., threat of unabated inflation, S&P/DOW dancing with collapse, etc., have put most investors on the sidelines - leaving only the traders and hedge funds to move the market. Solar volumes have been pretty anemic - and therefore easily affected/manupulated by the relative few...
