These are the porn trends 2019

What will be in the porn business in 2019? No industry has been shaken by digitization as hard as the porn industry – with the many freely accessible movies, the willingness to pay for porn has fallen sharply. However, this year could turn the tide for some providers.

For example, xHamster, a porn site owned by the Cypriot company Hammy Media, is particularly successful with amateur pornography – and benefits from the closure of Tumblr. In August 2018, xHamster took 60th place in the Alexa ranking of the most visited websites worldwide and 11th in the Germany ranking.

The xHamster team looked at last year’s data, from traffic to search terms, to find out which porn trends will grow in the coming year.

Women are on the rise

A prediction is based on the increasing interest of the female population in pornography: According to xHamster 2019, women are expected to reach a share of over 30 percent of users worldwide. Currently, female users account for 28 percent of users worldwide.

In the United States, the number of female visitors increased by 41 percent in 2018 and 12.3 percent worldwide. The category “Porn for Women” increased by almost 284 percent. In some countries, women are much closer to the same percentage as male users: in the Dominican Republic, for example, 53 percent of all users are women. In Germany it is 24 percent.

Women have a slightly different taste than men: the categories with the most female spectators are Cunnilingus, vibrator and eating pussy.

Regulations, laws and prohibitions

In the past year, xHamster has been hit hard, especially in China, Saudi Arabia, the Philippines and Indonesia, because these countries are rigidly opposed to porn watching.

A lot has happened in liberal areas, too. In the US, President Trump signed in April the so-called FOSTA / SESTA, a bill to combat human trafficking that resulted in the closure of whole communities on Craigslist and Reddit, and consumers to become professional Porn sites drifted.

The traffic of xHamster grew in the USA in the consequence by scarcely 13 per cent. And again, the US President made an (involuntary) contribution: His former affair Stormy Daniels is one of the top search terms 2018.

What Porn Sites Also Helped: The Shutdown by Tumblr. After the platform was removed from Apple’s App Store in November, Tumblr banned any adult content that showed “real human genitals or nipples” or sex acts.

In the meantime, the search for “Tumblr” on xHamster has more than quadrupled with 208 percent compared to last month (December 2018). The team expects that in the following years further free platforms will ban sex and nudity and therefore consumers will increasingly turn to porn sites.

Millennials promote the return of pay porn

The consumers will be more willing to pay for porn in 2019, hopes xHamster. In the past, consumers were satisfied with any content as long as it was free – now exclusivity and community have been the driving factors.

The reason: The decline in free social networks and the simultaneous rise of performer-driven productions such as cams, clips and fan subscription sites, including monetized Snapchat. For example, in 2018, xHamster recorded an increase in registrations of almost 200 percent over the previous year.

Thanks to the porn industry Millennials.
By the end of 2019, millennials will account for more than 60 percent of all
Make out to porn viewers – and they’re more willing to pay for the movies. They seem to have a penchant for amateur porn – in the top 100 search terms, only three studio brands can be found, two of which record a rapid decline.
