The video platform is likely to be one of the most widely used apps on children’s and teenagers’ smartphones. But not only parents often ask themselves: what are they actually looking at?

The Council for Cultural Education, an advisory body funded by various foundations, has had the representative examined. Parents may breathe easy: Many kids are also looking for specific content on Youtube to be smart.

According to the study, YouTube takes second place to WhatsApp for 12 to 19-year-olds when it comes to usage, before landing on Instagram, Facebook or Snapchat. 86 percent say they use Youtube (WhatsApp 92 percent, Facebook 61, Instagram 61, Snapchat 46).
